Where in the world...

Can you have 70 degree weather on a Monday
Then wake up at 7 .m. to tornado-type winds on a Tuesday
Then at 9 a.m. see blizzard-blowing snow
Then at noon see clear, sunny skies...

My backyard is where you see all this!

I've always heard that if you didn't like the weather (where we live) just wait a few minutes and today was no exception!

A Big Time Birthday Week !

There has been something about this month... Caroline and Lily have been fortunate to have been invited to a birthday party every week this month! It has been a month-long birthday party-palooza for all of our friends with January birthday parties!

But it was a fun week this past week for Caroline as she celebrated her own big "5" birthday!

Luckily, we have no friends or family who celebrate birthdays during this third week of January... and Caroline took advantage of week-long celebration of making it to the half-decade mark in her life :-)

We started the week off with the Royal Princess Tea Party with 22 of her nearest and dearest princess friends. We then had a special little birthday lunch with her best boy "Henry" ... since no boys were allowed at her earlier party! Caroline celebrated with princess cupcakes at school and then capped off her birthday night with a WSU game where her birthday was announced and she got a little face time on the video board!
Could you ask for a better birthday!
Oh, to be five again!

American Girls...

Caroline and her American Girl doll Elizabeth pose in their new American Girl robes ... slippers and all. Of course, Lily realized what Caroline was doing (posing for a picture) and had to jump in there!

Thanks Grandma and Baba for the new robes!!!

She Has Arrived and She is Five!

Caroline celebrated her 5th birthday with a bash that befits a Five Year Old! As I repeatedly told her dad, this is a big milestone birthday and we are throwing a party!
I also like to celebrate the fact that five years ago, I became a mother! What better reason to celebrate!
Princess Caroline invited 22 of her closest friends :-)... that is right, 22!!! But they were 22 of the sweetest and most beautiful princesses... and their manners were impectable! Caroline is very lucky to have spent her first five years meeting such fun friends at playgroup, school and around the neighborhood!
The girls arrived at the tea party palace (that mom and dad created for her) and enjoyed games and a visit from Cinderella... before dining on a Royal Table feast!

She Came All the Way from Disney World!

That is right... our special guest arrived all the way from Disney World.... Cinderella!

Cinderella arrived to a bunch of very excited little princesses!

That is Right... All 22 Princesses Enjoying Their Tea

I have proof right here that you can easily seat 22 five-year old princesses and let them enjoy a royal feast of tea sandwiches, chocolate covered strawberries and cupcakes! The girls seemed to have a ball and they were all so well-behaved!

A Princess and her Royal Table

Caroline enjoyed sitting and surveying her 'princess tea party' table for about and hour before her party. She counted each seat and made sure each princess had her name card!

Winter White Wonder...

Now that the snow is melting... I just had to post one of my favorite "winter white" scene of my 'snow angel'...
It is suppose to be 60 degrees this weekend, but I'm secretly hoping we get snow on Monday :-)
